Back in the States

Crazy that I've only been home now for like 2 & 1/2 weeks- it feels like I've been home for so much longer than that! I've definitely managed to make use of my unemployment(temporary, I hope) and I've been so busy I wouldn't even have time for a job now! My first weekend back home I went camping at the Dunes with a bunch of friends, but I wasn't feeling too well so that kinda sucked, my first camping trip in years where I didn't drink! Since then I've gone to 2 different weddings with some friends, and been to sushi twice(definitely not the same as in Japan, but that was expected), a movie, 2 baseball games, Uwajimaya(the Asian supermarket here- and they had ankomochi!!), boating twice, drunken dancing at the bar a few times(yay!), I've ate Taco Bell twice now,and we've BBQ'd a few times. Amidst all of these crazy social events, I've managed to go on a few job interviews and have a job offer now- but not sure which one I'm gonna take yet.

This Friday I'm going down to Grants Pass(finally) to see my family, go to Wedding #3, and move my stuff up to Portland- I'm moving into a house with my brother and his 2 roommates. Then the week after my sister and her boyfriend will be in Oregon and I'm heading back down to GP for my grandparent's 50th Anniversary party, and then Sunday we're gonna do some rafting- which I'm sooo excited for! I've been crazy busy, but it's been great!

Things I miss from Japan: Shochu, Onigiri, Ankomochi, Kaiten Sushi, Small food sizes, being able to drink in public, no cutoff time for serving/selling alcohol, all u can drink for one price, being "average height", healthy food, oh yeah- and of course all my friends!

Things I'm excited about here: good friends and family, bagels with cream cheese, cheap beer, cheese, dancing at real clubs, my car is bigger than a golf cart, guys will actually come up and talk to you at the bars :) , TV, no humidity, outdoor activities, and being anonymous!!
