Lantern Festival
This weekend I went to a Lantern festival in Yamaguchi City with my friend, Atsuko. It was cool to see- everything was very traditional. The men who carried the lantern towers were dressed up and some women wore Yukattas. There were lanterns everywhere. They are made out of paper and they put real candles in them to light them up. It was a little windy so we saw a few of the paper lanterns on fire because the candles had tipped over. We got some green tea ice cream and walked around.
They had some sweet decked out cars on display at the lantern festival too (kinda weird). The white Honda sports car is an Acura NSX. Sweet car. They don't have Acura here in Japan- so all the cars here that would be an acura in the U.S. are hondas- hence the Honda NSX. The other car is a Honda Odyssey- it looks like a big lowrider minivan. These kind of cars of very popular here. It doesn't normally come decked out with all those TV's or speakers in the back. It looked like a limo on the inside- with a huge backseat.
